Happy Easter Sunday. Today's blog will be a little different, because rather than the usual essay on the creative journey, a song spotlight, or a short story, I have a little update to share, or I should say, a little explanation on an update you might have noticed.

Eagle-eyed readers among you might have noticed that the weekly emails I send now hit your inbox under a new name. That's because a few weeks ago I changed the name of the blog from Dr Fabola’s Substack to Notes and Notions. I just wanted to clarify that despite this new name, the blog's focus remains the same. To appropriate the popular expression, new name, same focus. This begs the questions: (1) Why the change? (2) Why Notes and Notions?

The answer to the first question is simple: I wanted a more descriptive title for this blog, something to give new and potential readers an idea of what goes on here. Dr Fabola's Substack just doesn't do that.

So why Notes and Notions? Well, the Notes part refers to written notes, like creative essays, but also musical notes, melodies and harmonies, like those in the song spotlights I share.

As for Notions, well, it alliterates nicely with Notes, but it also ties in with the storytelling angle of this blog, in the form of the short stories, fictional and autobiographical accounts, and song lyrics I share from time to time.

That about sums it up. As I said, this little exercise in rebranding doesn't change the focus of this blog, and I hope the new name is an accurate reflection of what goes on here. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

My new album, Hope on the Horizon, is out everywhere now. Not a fan of streaming and want to support my music? You can download a digital version or buy a CD now here. Thank you for listening, spreading the word, and reaching out to share your thoughts. I appreciate it. Have a great week.
