Gratitude

a1

It was Thanksgiving a few days ago across the pond. The holiday has a controversial history and origin story, and the national pastime that follows it the day after is nearly as contentious, at least in some circles. Yet, the sentiment of the holiday that is Thanksgiving is one I hold dear.

It's a day set aside in the calendar when everything stops, business is put on hold, and families and friends reconvene to eat, drink and take stock of what they’re thankful for. If you're familiar with my art and my music, even vaguely, you'll know how important gratitude is to me, and how much I practise being thankful for the big things and the small. A few years ago I put all these into a song, and a short while afterwards, I made a home video of another song

I was reminded of the studio record a few weeks ago when I was chatting on air with a radio host at ALLFM, so this week, I figured I'd take this week to share my gratitude…

For how far I've come on this creative journey, for another successful record released, some lovely intimate gigs week in and week out, and the beautiful souls who tell me how much they appreciate the music.

For family and friends and support systems, the people around us who are on this journey of life with us. The people that make us want to be better humans, the people that remind us that life is worth living, the people that spur us on to work hard and rest in appropriate measure.

For you, reading this, coming along with me on this creative journey, consuming and sharing my art. You all make this worthwhile, so thank you.

PS: Just a reminder that the lead single of the new record is out now, everywhere. You can listen to it on several platforms. Please share it with a friend, share it with your social networks, and consider subscribing to the newsletter (below), my YouTube channel, or wherever else you listen to music.
