Happy Sunday. I don't know what it's like where you are, but we've had a week of glorious Spring weather which has done wonders for my mood. It truly is the little things that go a long way, as captured in today's song spotlight, called It's Enough. I wrote this a few years ago after a lovely day spent with friends and family, and I tend to come back to it ever so often as a note to self, a reminder of what makes a good life.

Just like the last song spotlight, this song will also be on my next album (details will be announced soon). In fact, it was the first song we recorded for the album, even before I knew what the album was going to be, so this one is extra special.

As always, I'm sharing the lyrics here in line with the philosophy (and safe in the knowledge) that my song lyrics can stand alone as poetry. I hope you get to hear it in its full song form someday soon, be it in a live music setting or on the recorded album. In the meantime, please let me know what you think of the lyrics below, and keep an eye out for future announcements and updates. You can also listen to a live rendition from a previous live gig here. And with all that said, I give you, It's Enough.

1

Rain is falling from beneath winter skies

It's grey and it's cold outside

I hear the drumbeat of the raindrops on my window

They sound as steady as the laughter inside

Cause I'm with my tribe, in our safe zone

And I couldn't be more satisfied

One look around, and I can't help but smile

Cause I've got just the one thought all the while

If this moment is as good as it gets

It's enough for me

If today is as good as this life gets

It's a life well lived

2

And life's a journey, so I've been told

We're traveling, searching for meaning

But it's the people, the ones who share your road

That make life worth living

On days like this, when it's grey and cold

It's a privilege to have one to hold

And right here, right now, I've got joy aplenty

And I wouldn't trade this for gold

Cause I've got love to warm my heart

And shelter to shield me and mine

I've got laughter to quell my worries

All the things that make it all worthwhile

So if this moment is as good as it gets

It's enough for me

If today is as good as this life gets

I have to say, it's a life well lived

P.S.: My debut non-fiction book, Art Is The Way, and my middle-grade novella, A Hollade Christmas, are out everywhere now. You can get them in all good bookstores and from all major online vendors.
